Fondali Campania is a non-profit, free and non-partisan social promotion association that works to enhance, protect and safeguard the marine and coastal habitat of the Campania Region, in southern Italy. Our enhancement initiative aims to implement a plan to promote the marine and coastal environment through a series of video reviews, interviews, events and projects. The goal is to raise public awareness of environmental issues, focusing on the protection of marine fauna and flora. Furthermore, we intend to stimulate tourism and involve Campania residents, promoting in-depth knowledge and appreciation of our precious coastal and marine heritage. All members are constantly committed to protecting and safeguarding the environmental heritage through seabed and beach cleaning operations. The service is the result of the spontaneous availability of the members, who passionately use personal resources in order to achieve this noble goal. Fondalicampania is committed to training volunteers ("Sentinelle del mare", "Sentinels of the Sea"), capable of carrying out a beach monitoring plan. In order to ensure the success of the initiative, the association proposes a pilot project, for the monitoring of microplastics in the stretch of the coast of the Campania region. The pilot project called "Sentinels of the Sea", aims to know the state of health of the beaches, before proposing any solutions to the municipalities involved. The operational synergy between the various forces of the territory is necessary in order to obtain a reliable database. For this reason, collaboration with other associations and with marine protected areas is foreseen.
